Lizzie Markson

To all the queers, theater nerds, dreamers, and weirdos—this one’s for you.

Lizzie Markson (she/they) is an Artist. With everything she creates, she is interested in exploring and capturing the depth, truth, messiness, beauty, ridiculousness, silliness, joy, and heartache of the human experience - whether that is playing a character in a play or musical, writing original music or poetry, creating visual art, or coaching her acting students. As an actor, they are invested in being a part of stories that crack your heart open as well as ridiculous theatre that makes you belly laugh.

Currently, you can catch Lizzie performing in major cities across the country as a Fate in the National Tour of "Hadestown", through May of 2024. Lizzie has also appeared on the National Tour of "Mamma Mia!" as Sophie, in the 2019 Tokyo production of "West Side Story" as Anybodys, in "Cabaret" at Asolo Repertory Theatre, and in various cabarets and workshops through NYC.

Lizzie is queer and jewish and is interested in collaborating on projects that involve and center her own identities, people of marginalized genders and BIPOC folks. Lizzie is invested in making the musical theatre cannon more queer. You can watch one of those project's here (queering "Waitress"). If this aligns with your vision as well, please reach out to chat.

a note…

“My original art is born from my heart and my truth. My process is experimental and improvisational. To the right you’ll find an original song, a cover that is an original medley of two of my favorite songs by some of my favorite artists (Joni Mitchell, Sara Bareilles, and Ingrid Michaelson), a piece of original SoundArt called “My Heart is a Wild Bird” that was inspired by an anxious heart, big desires, 2020, and Glennon Doyle’s ‘Untamed’.”
