About

Lizzie Markson is an interdisciplinary artist and a chameleon, versatile actor, known for her fresh takes on well-worn characters and pieces of theatre. She made her National Tour debut playing Sophie on the Farewell MAMMA MIA! National Tour. They made their international debut playing Anybodys in West Side Story at the IHI Stage Around Tokyo, Japan - a theatre designed specifically for that production. Most recently she was a part of Josh Rhodes’ acclaimed Cabaret at Asolo Repertory Theatre.

Other notable stage credits: Natalie in Next to Normal, Enid Hoopes in Legally Blonde, and Lubicchi in the ongoing development of the new musical: Poupelle of Chimney Town.

A passionate advocate for more queer representation and stories, Lizzie has been actively involved in projects that center queer voices and points of view and is very interested in queering the current musical theatre cannon.

In addition to acting, she is a writer of songs and spoken word creations, as well as visual art. Her first single can be found here

Hi, I’m Lizzie

As an artist, I am committed to creating pieces of theatre and telling stories that will help audiences liberate and release what they normally keep locked up inside: belly laughter and deep joy, or tears of grief and pain.

I bring original takes and specific truth to every character I embody. I am psyched to play queer characters and Jewish characters. I am also psyched to play characters whose identities do not align with mine.

“Markson, making her national touring debut, sparkles as strong-willed Sophie.”
